The Mountain Fortress Walkthrough (Demo Mission)
Last checked: 2026-10-28
Demo military mission: hold a mountain castle through a series of sieges. Wall layout, tower placement and the AI behaviours to exploit.
The mission
A pure siege-defence: your castle sits in mountain terrain and enemy waves assault it in sequence. It is the demo's showcase of the war side of the game.
Defence principles from demo footage
- Layer, don't lump. Multiple wall lines and towers in depth beat one thick wall — attackers that breach one line still face the next.
- Towers over gates. Community demo reports say attackers often ignore the main gate to bash down guard towers or melee walls — put towers where they eat fire doing it, and don't rely on the gate as your kill-zone.
- Watch your archers' focus. Demo players report archers dumping many arrows into single targets — manual focus-fire on siege units wastes less.
- Crenellations are tools, not trim. Players found crenellations can block a walkable wall segment from opening a doorway into a tower — deliberate wall routing is a real defensive layer.
Wave pressure
Waves escalate across the mission; footage of "impregnable" defences shows the winning pattern is economy-to-tower reinvestment between waves, not a fixed build.
